Hey Guys,
my systems is lvm on luks encrypted.
After the update from today it is not more possible to boot for me with the new kernel local/linux 3.8.8-1.
I was also trying to downgrade to 3.8.7.1 but this don't work but with the lts kernel I can start my system.
I hang on the point where the systemd-fsck is running after I was typing my password for my file system.
Any ideas?
EDIT:
The problem came from the gnome update. Gdm isn't running and it freeze. So I was removing gdm from the startup. Lightdm was also not helping start my gnome currently over .xinitrc

chroot in and check your logs (principally pacman's). Make sure you have the required modules for your system in mkinitcpio.conf and rebuild your initird.
Offline
This are my hooks
HOOKS="base udev autodetect modconf block keymap encrypt lvm2 filesystems keyboard fsck"
and in the logs are the Image generation successful
Did it again with mkinitcpio -p linux and was looking fine but it still not working

modules?
Offline
MODULES=""
Modules are empty.
What I use is dkms for virtualbox.

So this is a virtual machine?
You should read the wiki pages for both LVM and LUKS: you want to explicitly include the relevant modules in your initrd.
Offline
So I include
MODULES="dm_mod ext4"
Also I was removing from my fallback kernel the quite mode.
Now I saw something new. It looks like it can mount everything and starts in the process of booting but than is hangs on wpa_suppilcant process or after it
Can I detect what will come after it ?
