no sound after upgrade to gnome 3.8

Am running gnome with Openbox and Slim. Am starting gnome-settings-daemon in Openbox autostart.

Sound does not work after upgrade. Pulseaudio daemon is running in the background. Alsamixer and Pavucontrol shows sound is not muted.

Anyone else having this problem and found a solution?

I had the same problem with gnome 3.8.

I had to enable the PulseAudio Sound System from the gnome-session-properties and relog.
