Hi,
I'm recommending Arch to a bunch of people. Now I have some trouble: Wait for 0.7.1 with new installations?
How long would that be?
Regards,
Johannes

Is 0.7.1 only waiting on the kernel then Tobi?

Ive got a few computer projects, including setting up a webserver at my college (which will run arch) and i have been kindof waiting on the 0.7.1 release. I understand that we are waiting on some things regarding initrd. I would just like some kind of a ballpark figure as to when you might finish, nothing definitive... like a couple of weeks, or a month, or tomorrow even (you could even lie). In the meantime i'm going to give the beta cd a spin.
Thanks!

I've managed to nail down the developer release schedule:
0.7.1 will be released on....
cat /dev/random
*sigh*
I'd estimate sometime between two and six weeks, given previous releases. I think there were several weeks between 0.7 beta and 0.7 release. However 0.7.1 is kind of a 'quick fix' so it should be sooner, I think -- they're already working on 0.8 stuff.
the beta is probably good enough, if it works, once its installed you have a running Arch system, so it doesn't make much difference.
