"Ogg stream corrupted"

I just bought Rammstein's new album and straight away inserted the cd into my computer for ripping. I used grip and oggenc, both are latest versions available at extra repo. Files play fine, except that at work in foobar I get error "Ogg stream corrupted". The file command at home comp confirms this.  What is this all about? This hasn't happened before, and I've ripped many cd's..

Re: "Ogg stream corrupted"

Searching in gentoo forums helped me a bit.

It seems that the culprit was grip which was writing id3v2 tags to ogg files. id3 tag info in ogg-file causes the files to be "corrupted". Some players refuse to play these files and some not.

For the record, the same thing happens for flac files with id3v2 tags.  Xmms can't play them while rhythmbox/quolibet plays them fine.
