Re: May 2013 Screenshots

Is AWN still being developed? Latest update was in 2010 according to launchpad.

If it ain't broke, you haven't tweaked it enough.

Re: May 2013 Screenshots

Just finished patching DWM with Pango font support and improving said patch. (The one that's floating around the web isn't the cleanest patch I've seen).

As you can see, the statuscolors are still off. I will fix that tomorrow and then those interested can find everything on my GitHub.

EDIT: Meh, Imgur's quality sucks. Does anyone have another website I can use to upload my scrots?

Unia:  Use PNGs, you only have yourself to blame. :-P

I migrated to Kubuntu for a bit, but came back after not feeling entirely comfortable in KDE on a Debian-based system, in the hopes of using a "stable" distro on my laptops (just got a Lenovo g570).

I mangled my upload/formatting (on Imgur), but here's an album

Imgur automatically converts an image to JPG if the filesize is too high.

This is not mine but I think it is the most beautiful screenshot ever so

And that's running on a modded OS X... Which makes it that much cooler to me.

I'm not the biggest fan of xfce, but I like your colors.  If ever there were an xfce desktop for me, what you made there would probably be the closest.

Re: May 2013 Screenshots

If you don't enable composting the system will fall back onto software graphics.  So when you turn on the compositing, it acutally starts to use the HW accelleration.  What is interesting about this is that this means that any modern system, you will actually get better graphics performance by turning compositing on, rather than off.  It kind of goes against logic, in that you would think that having less desktop effects would yeild better performance.  Martin Graesslin, who is a KDE developer, wrote on the topic not too long ago.
