NVIDIA - Some images/webpages blur the screen

I do not really know how to actually describe my odd issue, but i will try.

Some time ago, random images, for instance the options menu in minecraft - and the minecraft.net webpage, blurs the whole screen.
I have tried to find other images/videos/webpages/games that does, but haven't found any yet.

The odd thing is that when it does on the webpage (in firefox for instance), it is really the whole screen that blurs out
- that means that my tint2 panel, the openbox window-frame and 100% of the visible screen blurs - so it cannot be the actual webpage in itself.

I have tried searching a lot, but i get too many different kinds of blur-issues as suspected with such a general but still hard to detail problem.
I have also tried seeing if it is a nvidia hardware problem, or a problem with my actual display (An 46" Phillips HDMI tv @ 1920x1080.

I did not have this problem a while ago, and it really irritates my usual good troubleshooting capabilites.

Is there anyone that has experienced or know of this specific - seeminlgy random - issue?

Re: NVIDIA - Some images/webpages blur the screen

I've notcied something that might give someone a clue/a knowing aha?
It seems that certain patters/colours puts the screen in this blurred state;
the brown pixels of the vanilla minecraft background in the options screen for instance,
and i watched a youtube clip, the same options-screen was shown, and all my widgets, fonts, panel, screen went blurred again.

This is really strange, it seems like either the driver/nvidia or the TV adjusts something when a certain image/colour appears,
making everything blurry.

I would like to find out what it is and disable this behaviour, if it is not a bug of sorts?

Strangest thing i have come across =/

Your TV probably has some sort of auto calibration, check the settings if you can disable it.
I've seen monitors that try to correct contrast depending on what is shown and usually does this poorly.

Yeah i have looked those over aswell, since i usually "finetune" the picture for a few days when i get a new one,
i double-checked and everything "dynamic" was disabled, like: "dynamic contrast, advanced sharpness, dynamic backlight.." and so on.

But that is one suspicion yeah, that there are some odd setting i've missed, but it seems to get the same on whatever setting thus far.

It is odd though that the minecraft background brown-pattern seems to be what triggers whatever happens.

The same background in minecraft with another texturepack (higher res), with the same amount of brown, does not give the blurred screen bug.
It is so odd what triggers it =/

I wonder if it is the TV or some very odd driver bug - i am not sure that it has happened a few updates back,
I will continiue to search for the culprit of this oddness in the meantime.

Thanks for the input anyways smile

Re: NVIDIA - Some images/webpages blur the screen

Update: I have found an image that triggers it, viewing this image and clicking once in firefox to zoom in to maximized.
When i do that, everything blurs.   So does it happen to anyone else with a LCD tv, or nvidia-drivers, or 64-bit or whatever common ground there is?

Image --> http://www.img2.9minecraft.net/Mod/Main-Menu-API-1.png

(Note, it only happens when zoomed in/maximized - and other just brownish pictures does not trigger the odd blur - does my system hate that texure? =/ )

Nope, can't reproduce it here. Running Nvidia 313.30-5 w/ monitor.

Then it leans even more towards the TV, perhaps this topic should be moved to "off topic",
since that it TV-troubleshooting if so.

Ditto it not happening for me as well -- nVidia drivers (Optimus), 64-bit laptop (LCD screen).

Re: NVIDIA - Some images/webpages blur the screen

That's unfortunate that i fail to find someone experiencing the same issue.
It is like that pattern on the minecraft-sites or pictures are the screens worst enemy,
it seemingly happen on minecraft.net aswell, but with the grey stone texture.

On another note i keep having trouble getting nvidia-settings colour settings to stay.
I do either:

nvidia-settings --load-config-only
or
nvidia-settings -l

and it works for a while, but it "looses" the colour settings randomly and i have to bring it up again to get back the right adjustments.

Do not know if it is the same or a different issue.

I probably notice thinks like this quite "harshly" because i am such a sucker for getting a "perfect" display quality..
