LXDE - Can't Move/Resize Windows - No Typing Shows - No Rt Mouse Buttn

Recently installed Arch and LXDE.

When I opened LXDE manually by doing startx, it worked OK.

However, after installing LXDM and logging in, LXDE starts up OK, but now I have several problems that I did not have before with LXDE.

1.  Can't Move or Resize Windows

When I open up a program, the windows are opening up tight against the upper left corner of the display. I can see the menu headings, but don't see minimize or maximize buttons nor can I move windows around by dragging the menu bar.

2.  No Typing Shows in Windows

When I type in Terminal at prompt, I do not see any text show up.

3.  No Right Mouse Button Functionality

Now when I right click on something I don't get any menus pop up.

Any suggestions on how to fix the above?.....

Thanks!

Re: LXDE - Can't Move/Resize Windows - No Typing Shows - No Rt Mouse Buttn

Solved the no right mouse button problem....

Went to Preference > Desktop Preferences > Advanced tab and unticked the checkbox for 'Show menus provided by window managers when desktop is clicked'

Read this solution on another linux website....go figure....

Still could use help with other problems....

Thanks!

Re: LXDE - Can't Move/Resize Windows - No Typing Shows - No Rt Mouse Buttn

1. For number one, are you able to drag windows by holding the alt key and using the left mouse button?

2. For your terminal, could the text and background colors maybe be the same? Try highlighting (where the text would be) and see if its shows up.

Thanks for your help....

No, can't drag by alt key and left mouse.....

No, text and background colors are not the same....tried highlight where text should be and don't see any text...

Also, I tried typing in a URL in web browser and do not see any text when I type....so, this problem is not just in terminal....

Does the typing problem affect just some programs or all programs?

If you copy and paste text using your mouse does it show up?

As noted, so far, I've noticed problem in terminal and Firefox....

Just tried typing in LibreOffice Writer....and what do you know....I see text as I type....

And then tried typing in terminal window again and now I see text!!!!!!

Weird!!!!

Question is whether or not it will continue to work OK....

If you copy and paste text using your mouse does it show up?

Yes....now it does....

Well, not sure what happened, but now the right mouse button is working again!....

So, only remaining problem is the first problem listed above; can't move or resize windows....can't see minimize or maximize buttons on windows either...

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Re: LXDE - Can't Move/Resize Windows - No Typing Shows - No Rt Mouse Buttn

Well, spoke too soon....

After rebooting, I found that I could not type in Terminal or Firefox, etc, again...

Only way I have discovered to fix this is to open up LibreOffice Writer and I can type into a blank document. Then I able to type in other programs again....

Weird!!!!

UPDATE:

Got frustrated with all the problems with LXDE....

So, removed it and installed XFCE and so far no problems!.....
