ati: DisplayPort reinitialize?

Hi all,

I'm wondering if it's possible to somehow hotplug a DisplayPort connection with the open-source ATI drivers. The problem I'm having is that my monitor only receives a blank signal once I plug it in, requiring me to restart my computer. Alternatively, just turning the monitor off and on again will yield the same result - a blank image.

I tried blindly inputting 'xrandr --auto' into a terminal inside of X, but that didn't seem to do anything at all. That or I just mistyped the command.

Any suggestions?
