I have a fresh install of arch64, Xfce4 and pulse audio, and a question about pulse and 5.1 sound.
When testing my speakers under windows, I get independent sound from my speakers, and with speaker-test -c 6, I also get independent sound from my speakers.
From pavucontrol, under Configuration, I have my onboard audio set to profile Analog surround 5.1 output + analog input, Under output devices I see the "Built in audio analog 5.1..." with all the volume sliders locked. When I moved them (locked), I hear sound from my front left, center and front right, can't hear anything from rear.
I then move them to 0 and unlock them. One by one I raise them. I don't get any sound from center, rear right, rear left or subwoofer. when I move front left and front right, I get sound from left and right respectively. however, if I move front right to 100, then move rear left to 100, I hear sound out of my center.
I have the following in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf:
enable-lfe-remixing = yes
default-sample-channels = 6I'm confused at what's going on in pavucontrol. Is this normal? if not, what can I check to fix it?

I've exhausted all my knowledge, and could use a little guidance. What information can I provide that would help in solving this issue? I'm ready to learn.
