Hi All,
I am attempting a fresh install using the archlinux-2013.05.01-dual.iso image. When I run pacstrap I get:
pacstrap -i /mnt base
==> Creating install root at /mnt
==> Installing packages to /mnt
error: failed to initialize alpm library (database is incorrect version)
error: try running pacman-db-upgrade
==> ERROR: Failed to install packages to new root
So I ran pacman-db-upgrade, which did not complain, and tried again -- same result.
Thanks for your help.

Maybe this is related:
When I started the installation, following the Beginner's Guide instructions, I couldn't set up the wireless because when I tried to run "wifi-menu" it failed with "command not found." So I figured I should try to get "base" installed and then maybe wifi-menu would be available, but it looks like pacstrap uses the network.
So maybe the question is: why is wifi-menu not available (and if it was and I had my wireless set up, would that fix my pacstrap problem)?

Okay, that was not the problem. I just got my wireless started manually (after finding posts that suggested that wifi-menu is temporarily missing from the .iso), and am still having the same pacstrap problem.
(edit) For what it's worth, I have also tried "pacman -Syy", and have tried changing my choice of mirrors. No difference.
