cannot mount root after upgrade (XEN virtual host)

Hi,

I've tried to reboot my VPS (running under XEN) after upgraded and there seem to be a problem with my root. Thankfully, I have recovery shell so I connected to it.

Here is what I get :

[    1.137981] i8042: No controller found
:: running early hook [udev]
:: running hook [udev]
:: Triggering uevents...
Waiting 10 seconds for device /dev/xvda2 ...
ERROR: device '/dev/xvda2' not found. Skipping fsck.
ERROR: Unable to find root device '/dev/xvda2'.
You are being dropped to a recovery shell
    Type 'exit' to try and continue booting
sh: can't access tty; job control turned off
[rootfs /]#

After a few researches, I found that, so I tried the solution mentionned except after my modprobe, I get that :

Trying to continue (this will most likely fail) ...
:: mounting '/dev/xvda2' on real root
mount: you must specify the filesystem type
You are now being dropped into an emergency shell.
sh: can't access tty; job control turned off
[rootfs /]#

So, from here I'm lost. I don't really know what to do.

Thank you for reading and thank you for your help.
