Lexmark z730, is there a hope?

i got this little printer lexmark z730 .. its got all im looking for in a printer , small, good quality photos and cheap.. the only problem is that i cant get it to run in arch (or any other distro) i tried z600 and z700 drivers i found on this forum here but no luck. cups backend output is as its supposed to be:
/usr/lib/cups/backend/z700 direct z700:/dev/usb/lp0 "Lexmark  730 Series" "Lexmark Printer" so that seems to be in order. i got lexmark drivers in cups admin page when i login to my http://localhost:631 page and z600 and z700 printers are on the list as well as some other lexmark ones. my dmesg looks ok imo:
usb 1-1: USB disconnect, address 4
drivers/usb/class/usblp.c: usblp0: removed
usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 6
drivers/usb/class/usblp.c: usblp0: USB Bidirectional printer dev 6 if 0 alt 0 proto 2 vid 0x043D pid 0x00BA
yet the damn thing still wouldnt print. cups admin page shows that the document is printing with all the correct percentage and everything else seems to be in order. so i ask you good arch ppl. ist there a hope ?
