MPD - "dirty" sound and HDMI not working

Hello,

recently I found mpd and liked the idea of a music deamon instead of always calling mplayer. Thus I installed it and thought, that I can enjoy the music. But some (well, actually most) of the files just don't sound "right". But hear yourself: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/237 … m/prob.ogg

It only seems to affect AAC files (which are within a mp4 container). I also have a few FLAC files but haven't been able to hear such issues when playing them, yet.

I tried to change the output device, the samplerate_converter and the mixer_format but there was no difference. I didn't want to change the ALSA configuration since mplayer works correctly.

Anyone with a similiar problem who might be able to help?

Another thing, I stumbled upon when I was trying to fix the above issue, is, that it doesn't seem possible to use HDMI as audio output. I tried it with mplayer -ao alsa:device=hw=1.3, mplayer -ao alsa:device=hw=1.7, mplayer -ao alsa:device=hw=1.8 and mplayer -ao alsa:device=hw=1.9. Mplayer "played" something, but I couldn't hear any sound. (And there is nothing muted)

I really hope, that anyone can help me.

EDIT: I noticed this thread, where Mplayer2 (which I use) also has no HDMI output. Is it a known bug?

EDIT2: Today, I tried mpd-git and it works without any flaws.
But I'm still not able to use HDMI for any sound (not even speaker-test makes any noise).
