[SOLVED] unable to enumerate USB device on port with Samsung Galaxy Y

Hi,

I was having a lot of trouble to make my Samsung Galaxy Y to work with Arch.

When I plugged it on the usb port to charge, the phone kept beeping and dmesg kept giving me messages:

hub 1-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 4

Google pointed to me to several solutions, one of them was to unbind devices of the ehci_hcd driver, but that didn't work.

So I found one page on XDA-developers forum that tried to unbind the device of the xhci_hcd driver:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr … ?t=2181052

That worked for me, it stoped the kernel messages, and now the phone can charge without problems.

PS: I didn't try ADB or the USB storage, I just wanted the phone to charge on the USB port of my laptop.
