Hello.
I have a problem with pacman and repository mirrors. A lot or mirrors in my files are now not upgraded so i must use official ftp.archlinux.org.
I have a idea => download databases of current versions from archlinux.org and then try to download packages from other mirrors. Is/will be in pacman this feature? ... ftp.archlinux.de is for my faster that archlinux.org, but there is a lot of packages in old vesions.
Thanks in advance .)

The DBs and the packages on the mirrors are synced together - if you update from one DB, and try to grab packages from another mirror, that package most likely won't exist.
i.e. if "somepackage-1.0" is on your mirror and "somepackage-1.1" is on ftp.archlinux.org, the DBs will contain only those versions... if you sync to ftp.archlinux.org and then try to upgrade via your mirror, you will get errors because "somepackage-1.1" is missing.

Which ones? Are you sure your mirror list is up to date?
I've never had any problems, beyond the kind of delay you would normally allow for mirror syncing. The Irish mirror is top of my list now (of course ), but before it was set up, I always got good results from ftp.belnet.be and archlinux.antesis.org.
Incidentally, I've been told that that Irish one (ftp.heanet.ie) is good for a lot of people, even as far afield as Australia (!), so I'd say shop around.

Some mirrors take a few days to sync with ftp.archlinux.org. Personnally, I don't mind that.

Yeah, let the impatient people be the guinea pigs. Some times it best to wait to see how it goes. You can always update abs and build the package if you really want now. And try to be courteous and stay off ftp.archlinux.org, we don't need to suck down his bandwidth.
Crap, I just tried using <ESC>:wq to send this message
