I was trying to install the new cd image of Arch (06-01-2013) but i have a problem with wireless connection. In fact wpa_supplicant says that my WEP password is too long (26 characters).
What am i missing?
Here's a screen: https://www.dropbox.com/s/b661o39kaeeqh … .23.22.jpg

Read the netctl.profile(5). In fact, open that man page and scroll all the way to the bottom, and you will see a section about special quoting. With WEP, I think there are two different kinds of passphrases, and depending on which type you use it quoting is different. Unfortunately, netctl has no way of determining which should be in use, so it only applies one type of quoting.
You could also simply look at the examples in /etc/netctl/examples. You will see in that directory that there is an example configu for just about every common connection type. There are two for WEP.
Edit: BTW, if you are using just WEP, you can actually connect without wpa_supplicant, using the basic tools. I know that you can do this is iwconfig and I am fairly certain that iw will allow connections to WEP networks as well. Of course, this is regarding the manual connection and not your netctl problem.
Edit2: Oh and instead of a screenshot, next time you should use the wgetpaste package in the repos. It takes output and posts it on one of those pastebin like sites. Of course I say "next time" with the assumption that the next thing that happens will be after you are actually connected to your WEP network

Thank you so much for your help! I had to create a new profile starting from an example located in /etc/netctl/example. The problem was the different type of quotation to use when using hexadecimal password.
Thank you again!
