Random freezing of wireless keyboard & mouse

I just completed installation of Arch64 with KDE on my desktop. A wireless keyboard/mouse combo is used (Microsoft wirelss 800) with a mini transceiver connected to the USB port. The keyboard and mouse inputs freeze up randomly in every session, forcing me to do shutdown using the power button. I installed ssh server on the system and monitored it externally. The dmesg output just after the freeze shows this:

I tried this through ssh after the freeze:

rmmod ehci-pci
modprobe ehci-pci

This is able to recover the input.

Any idea on how to prevent this?
