rt3290 modules cannot be loaded

Title says it all.

Linux kaboom 3.9.7-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Jun 20 22:45:32 CEST 2013 x86_64 GNU/Linux
07:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Ralink corp. RT3290 Wireless 802.11n 1T/1R PCIe [1814:3290]
	Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device [103c:18ec]
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 16
	Memory at 63510000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=64K]
Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 3
	Capabilities: [50] MSI: Enable- Count=1/32 Maskable- 64bit+
Capabilities: [70] Express Endpoint, MSI 00
	Capabilities: [100] Advanced Error Reporting
Capabilities: [140] Device Serial Number 00-00-87-ae-a9-23-94-68
	Kernel driver in use: rt2800pci
	Kernel modules: rt2800pci, rt3290sta

if I blacklist the module of rt2800pci, another module that is non existent gets load and of course you cannot blacklist it since it actually isn't there. Schizokernel! big_smile

/modules.load.d/ entry is useless also. Some suggestions might be of great use, I'm not even sure if it is the correct index to ask in.

Edit: The old driver gives an error that is talked about in this topic and there is an AUR pack has been made which I assumed correct but after lurking to pci_main_dev.c file as suggested in other topic, I realized that it is coded for a kernel even debian left and that it tries to load rt2860 module that is (I'm guessing) a part of that old kernel but I am no way close or have any hint of correcting that code. It doesn't load itself is the question to be asked. Furthermore, why the hell there is a code about rt2860 anyway? What if, just wondering, that rt2860 parts of the code is changed to rt2800, would that make it unnecessary to blacklist rt2800 module.

Does anyone know if Mr. Linux includes the modules that he uses. big_smile
