dvdrip won't read disc

Hi all -
dvdrip won't work for me since last upgrade. When I start a new upgrade and click on 'Read DVD' nothing happens - everything is still greyed out. If I click it again it says something about reading the TOC and nothing happens again. I've tried this on all my DVD's and get the same.
I've checked that my settings are correct for DVD drive etc.
Is anyone else having problems like this?

I upgraded lsdvd to 0.15 and dvdrip is working fine again.
But seems strange to me that dvdrip and transcode are in extra, but only an outdated version of lsdvd is in community... especially seeing that dvdrip doesn't seem to work without it.

dvdrip pics lsdvd binary to read out the TOC if it finds it in path, otherwise it would have fallen back tcprobe(part of tranceode). So uninstalling lsdvd would have had the same effect.

aha! ok, that makes sense, cos I recently installed lsdvd as a dependency for acidrip - also in community.
