Booting From USB Hanging At Certain Point

Hi all, new to the forums as i want to give Arch a go if i can get past this hanging problem. I created a bootable USB drive using the command - # dd bs=4M if=/path/to/archlinux.iso of=/dev/sdx in a terminal. (obviously changed parts of it as necessary.

But when i boot from the USB it hangs at this point:

Arch Linux 3.9.4-1-ARCH (tty1)
arch iso Login: root (automatic login)
Root@archiso~# [OK] started initialized pacman keyring
[OK] Reached target multi-user system

I left it for over 30mins and still stuck at that point any thoughts on what could be the problem and any solutions.

currently running LMDE 15 cinnamon

Any help would be appreciated

thanks

EDIT: Didnt explain it enough i basically cant type in any commands it just hangs there

Re: Booting From USB Hanging At Certain Point

Did you validate the checksum of the ISO file that you downloaded? Does it boot and login successfully on another machine (if you have another to test it on)?

The terminal is waiting for your input:

Arch Linux 3.9.4-1-ARCH (tty1)
arch iso Login: root (automatic login)
Root@archiso~#
