GXine volume annoyances

Two problems with GXine:

1. The volume sets itself to 50 on start. Is there a way to get GXine to keep the volume I set it to last time, a la Totem? 0.4.8 did that, so why won't 0.5.0?

2. The volume control is PCM. How do I change that to software volume control?

Try looking through the config files in ~/.gxine - I recall something like that in there, but am not sure.

Again, if it's not in the preferences dialogs, it may be in ~/.gxine/* - or else it's nonexistant.
