Hi,
I have freshly installed arch on my pc like a few times before, and I can't get gnome shell to run.
I have an nvidia Geforce 610 GT graphics card and a pretty new AMD setup. I have tried new nvidia drivers, the old ones, the open source ones and aything I could think of.
If I start Gnome with startx and .xinit file, I get a blanc screen and an "X" cursor. If i start it with GDM (that shows up nicely) and login, then the cursor remain the mouse, I can move it, go to other ttys and do what ever I wan't but it won't show me the gnome desktop
I have looked into logs in /var/log/ but haven't found any errors. If there is anything I should post here please say and i'll post it.
Thank you all for helping, and let me know if there are any logs you wish to see (and info on where i can see that log would be nice too).

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GN … .2B_cursor
And I would stick with the open source drivers
