Problem with ipw2100 (Solved)

I'm having a fundamental--and probably simple--problem with the ipw2100 package.  I've successfully installed wireless_tools.  I'm running hotplug.  I evidently have installed  the ipw2100 package.  Yet, when I try to modprobe ipw2100, I get a fatal module not found error.  This is the case even after depmod -a.

I've used the ipw2100 package on this machine with earlier versions of Arch.  In fact, my recollection is that earlier installs were a piece of cake.  I've been using Slackware on the notebook for the past year, but the hard drive just died.  So, I'm putting Arch back onto a new drive.

Can someone point out what I'm missing here?

Thanks,

Re: Problem with ipw2100 (Solved)

The solution was simple: use the IEEE80211 and ipw2100 packages from testing.  My wireless antenna lit right up.

Gosh, Linux can be fussy at times.
