qemu and grub

Ello'

I'm having some issues getting a arch host up and running with qemu, basically, I used GPT partitions and I used parted as instructed in the beginners guide -> https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners'_Guide

I'm not having any luck though, when I boot the image, seabios says "loading grub" and starts flickering a lot.

I done quite a few arch installs before, and I never seen anything like this, so im guessing it has something to do with the virtualization.

Any idea what I am doing wrong? I followed the guide step by step as per usual, any additional steps i need to take to get arch playing on qemu.

Re: qemu and grub

I don't know if this will help, but make sure you added the virtio modules to your initial ramdisk, https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Be … nvironment That's what I missed, when I did my first Arch install with qemu.

Re: qemu and grub

hello smile thanks for the reply big_smile I did put in the virtio modules in the initial ram-disk. I suspect it had something to do with the GPT partitions, I tried doing a install where I didn't use GPT partitions and everything worked fine big_smile
