OOo's pdf exporter

is there any particular reason why the Windows version of OOo2 should have a better working pdf exporter, as compared to the linux version?

I'm working on a paper in which I have introduced a small image (from a png-file). The bitmap turns out as a black square in the pdf. I happened to try to export the document under Windows, and there it worked just fine...

Is this a setting thing on my side, or a bug thing on OOo's side?

Re: OOo's pdf exporter

What PDF viewer are you using?
Maybe your PNG is transparent and as far as i know this feature is available only in Acroread, but in (x|k|g)pdf is just a black rectangle.

Re: OOo's pdf exporter

ah, thanks for that. I was using evince in linux. It turned out there was nothing wrong with the pdf, when I viewed it under a Windows machine (and I guess it would work fine under linux with acroread installed as well). Cheers.
