[SOLVED] Microphone software problem? (Both external and internal)

Hi all,
I'm getting a problem with the microphone of my laptop (see sig). I use ALSA.

When I try to register I get only very bad noises or silence, nothing understandable. I can upload a record if needed.
The problem is that this also happens when connecting an external microphone, so this may have something to do with the audio card, but more likely a software problem.

Remarks:
Alsamixer volumes are all to max. Intel Audio card powersave is disabled, makes no difference. It worked a month ago when I last tried...
I use Linux-ck, but I doubt it makes a difference, I can try tho if someone judges this may be relevant.

That's not a good idea: it will lead to distortion. You should keep the dB gain as close to 0 as possible (try <20), while still capturing your input.

Also, moving to Multimedia...

Thank you. My bad, I'm an idiot. I tried lowering the boosts but it was necessary to lower both the bootst and the capture volume.
You can close if you want.
