Hello,
I just installed converseen but it displays this warning when I try and run the program.
Unable to load library icui18n "Cannot load library icui18n: (icui18n: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)"
libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile.
I am thinking this is some sort of dependency issue. So I checked to see if the package libpng is installed, which is it installed.
Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

Does converseen start and work OK despite these warnings?

libpng is giving a warning, so there is no doubt that one is installed - but is icu installed? That's the package that has the library file that is said to be missing.

Yes, converseen does start despite the warning, although I have not tested it with a wide extensively of file formats.

I get an error similar to https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/27763 but mentioning svg.la file that does exist ...

Thanks Trilby,
I used the following command
pacman -S icu
and it got rid of the
Unable to load library icui18n "Cannot load library icui18n: (icui18n: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)"
Although I still have the
libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile.
Warning. Any ideas on how I fix the sRGB profile warning with libpng?

Hello Karol,
I believe that is because you don't have the package librsvg installed, which is one of the optional packages for imagemagick.

Ignore the libpng warning. The authors added that with 1.6, it's just complaining about an embedded profile that they don't like (not sure why). It shouldn't affect function.

FYI, you don't need to eliminate all warnings.
Converseen depends on qt4 which has icu as an *optional* dependency for unicode support. Converseen will use it if it's there, or not if it isn't.
The libpng warning is just a warning - it started as of libpng 1.6 when the upstream source of tools that use libpng have not been updated for 1.6 yet. The way to prevent it is to downgrade libpng - but that would be silly (and a bad idea). Or better, just wait for qt to catch up.

That's why I asked if it works despite the warnings.
@davidj
Yeah, it was more of a grrrr moment, not any real problem. I did install librvg, but then it complained about ps.la, so I had to install ghostscript ...
But it did work in the end, so I guess no bug reports need to be filled.

Thanks Trilby and Karol
