just did an update and now my mouse and keyboard don't work.

It hasn't been long since I did an update so it only updated a screen full of packages.

I'm attempting to boot from USB to see what packages updated.

xf86-input-evdev handles keyboard and mouse within X. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evdev)

So maybe you could try to chroot into your system from a livecd or USB and attempt to downgrade that package?

For things like that list of all those updated packages you should use code tags.

If you have access to the machine via ssh, maybe you should check to make sure that the evdev module is loaded on the kernel as well.  What kind of hardware is it by the way?

Re: just did an update and now my mouse and keyboard don't work.

Thank you. That got me sorted.  The problem wasn't with the update package but that pacman itself didn't seem to install it correctly.  Acording to pacman that and a bunch of other packages had no files in them.  After I reinstalled them it is working now.

Thanks for the help.

Re: just did an update and now my mouse and keyboard don't work.

As WonderWoofy remarked, when pasting code or command output, please use [ code ] tags https://bbs.archlinux.org/help.php#bbcode

like this

It makes the code more readable and - in case of longer listings - more convenient to scroll through.

Please remember to mark the thread as solved.
