Arch Linux x86_64 3.9.9-1-ARCH (updated as of right now)
Xfce4 + Greybird theme xfce-theme-greybird 1.1.1-1 from AUR
midori 0.5.4-1
The menu items in Midori are messed up, the theme is not applied correctly to them. The theme works fine for other apps. Any pointers to what might be going on and how I can fix it? Thanks.

Have you read the comments of the xfce-theme-greybird package?
Problems in gtk3 apps menus (transmission-gtk, file-roller,...)
Midori under Arch uses Gtk3 now.
Edit: I switched yesterday to mediterraneannight to have a decent-looking Gtk3 theme, in case you want to try it.

Thanks. I see that Xubuntu uses an older version of midori, I guess that's why it works right.
I'm not really hung up on using midori. Any other light weight web browsers that might work well with the greybird theme? Epiphany maybe? Though it seems to use gtk3. I run Arch Linux in a Virtualbox VM so I don't need a full heavy browser as the host OS has everything I need, but I do want to be able to quickly look at a page, click on a link, etc. No need for flash, extensions, etc.
Thanks for recommending mediterraneannight - I took a look and it's too dark for my taste, I like greybird.

I fixed it by using the latest Greybird theme from GIT (I copied it to ~/.themes). Now Midori menus render OK.
Unfortunately it seems that I need to give up on Midori after all, it doesn't look stable, it keeps crashing on me.
I'm open to suggestions for a light weight browser to try that matches Xfce well.

Only the “Dark” versions of mediterraneannight are dark; the other ones are very bright.
As far as lightweight browsers go, I’ve heard about Qupzilla, but haven’t tried it yet.
