Compaq Presario CQ62 Fan runs constantly, at max speed during X11

I have tried to follow the instructions in the wiki for fancontrol, but lm_sensors doesn't seem to even recongnize the fan.

Also, the temperture sensor reading seems to be erroneous, as my laptop is running nothing close to 88°C .

Is there a fix to this? Or does my laptop just not support fancontrol?

Interestingly enough, this issue occured after I cleaned my fan out. Could this be related somehow?

I looked deeper into the wiki, and it seems that cpufreq and lm_tools have not been tested on my model of Compaq. The notion that it does not support fancontrol seems to be ever-looming.
