LDAP how to make users authenticate

HI,

I'm wondering if anyone have some good resources to setup a DC/AD using LDAP in a mixed platform environment.

So far I have setup slapd and ldap-utils with phpldapadmin configured.

I have also created a posix group called people and added a test user.

Question is how do I proceed from here?

any pointers and/or resources are welcomed.
