I updated from linux-3.7.9 to linux-3.10.3. When I tried to boot, my hard drive was not found by the initrd. In fact, there was no /dev/sd* . Using the fallback initrd didn't help, but downgrading to 3.7.9 did. This machine's approximately 11 years old with "IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801DB (ICH4) IDE Controller (rev 01)". Can I do anything about this except staying with linux-3.7.9 ? I can provide more info if necessary.
