System+kernel update broke X and primusrun/bumblebee

After 'pacman -Syu' updated kernel and other packages and I rebooted, the following things were broken:
(I'm using Xfce4)

1) X shows some default theme instead of the one I set, and changing the theme manually again has no effect even.
2) X is using US keyboard layout instead of the one I set (if I don't start X, the layout is still fine, it's only wrong in X)
3) Although xbindkeys is running, the contents of ~/.xbindkeysrc are apparently ignored (edit: .Xmodmap is not ignored but works)
4) primusrun no longer works. a) It gives "primus: fatal: Bumblebee daemon reported: error: XORG Failed to load module "mouse" (module does not exist, 0)" - I have found similar older problems via google, but they weren't the same and the solutions cannot be applied. b) The gpu fan will start running at max freq, not even unloading nvidia or bumblebee modules helps. c) cat /proc/acpi/bbswitch claims "OFF" although the bbswitch LED on the notebook was turned on by the primusrun command and remains on -and the fans keep running- until I restart the machine.
(optirun doesn't work either, basically same error message.)

I was waiting for a week now, hoping that someone responsible for this mess would be like "oh no, what did I do there, quick, here are the fixed packages" and that everything works again after another Syu, but it seems that there is no testing or anything, before stuff is released to the repositories?
I also checked the news site (https://www.archlinux.org/) expecting it to say stuff like "..with the recent upgrade, some manual intervention is required to make it work..." but unfortunately nothing.

Hi there,

1) Are you just using the X environment (like the one you do when you test to see whether X is working after installing you graphics drivers) or are you using a Desktop Environment/ Window Manager
2) Sometimes you need to set Keyboard Layouts in X before the desired keyboard layout is used in X environment
3) and 4) I haven't a clue.

As for "...that someone responsible for this mess [finding your posts and saying] 'oh no, what did I do there, quick, here are the fixed packages'...", not telling us what packages you upgraded (so that we can isolate culprits together) isn't really going to do anything (and yes I have checked your post history, there is nothing that tells me what packages you've upgraded in the 3 weeks).

Thanks for reply, I'm using Xfce4.

About keyboard layout, the problem is that it was all working, and only stopped working after the pacman -Syu upgrade.
So whatever needed to be set for it to initially work, was already set (since it worked).

I have upgraded lots of different packages all the time in regular intervals, but I only restart after kernel update of course, so it's hard to tell which other packages could be at fault when those didn't take effect vs the kernel update yet, before I restarted the PC. And I did't use primusrun all the time either, so there are lots of packages that were updated really, without being able to tell which exactly could be the problem. But kernel and xorg are main candidates judging from the symptoms, no?

Edit:
I just downgraded the kernel to 3.9.9-1 and the problems with primusrun/bumblebee (4) disappeared again!
(To be specific, I downgraded to these packages linux-3.9.9-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz, bbswitch-0.7-4-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz, nvidia-319.32-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz, virtualbox-4.2.14-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz, virtualbox-host-modules-4.2.16-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz, virtualbox-guest-modules-4.2.16-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz -- which indicates that primusrun related packages worked up to ~5th July and broke somewhen afterwards.)
The problems 1 to 3 are still the same unfortunately.
