Music recognition

Is anybody using any software on Arch for music recognition (audio fingerprinting?)? Long time ago I was using Tunatic through Wine...

Re: Music recognition

There's a native application named "chromaprint" that extracts audio fingerprints from files. You can install it with pacman. It's an optional dependency of "picard", which uses it to query a central database to retrieve audio file metadata.  Is that what you had in mind?

Re: Music recognition

Well, it can work sometimes... For example, if I supply whole mp3 file to the Picard, it can find it in database with no problems. If I cut one minute from that mp3 file, Picard can't recognize it. Tunatic works in different way: while you are playing song, it can recognize it within 10-15 seconds. I think Shazam for Android works the same way but never tried that one. Finally, I uploaded sample to the site http://www.watzatsong.com and some guy recognized song :-)
