I get kicked to login screen after trying to go fullscreen

This happens with ANY application, as soon as I try to go fullscreen, I get logged out of my session and thrown back into the login screen.

Any idea why?

I have both gnome 3 and openbox, and this happens on both environments.

any help would be greatly appreciatted!

Regards

Re: I get kicked to login screen after trying to go fullscreen

Post your Xorg.log.

High probaility X is crashing related to video mode error or related (some apps seems to reset gamma levels, color depth and stuff even if the resolution doesn't change which still causes a reset and may crash the driver).

Re: I get kicked to login screen after trying to go fullscreen

Humm, this one is from your current session, the log doesn't report having shutted down or crashed or anything. Do you have the log of the crashed one? Mine is in Xorg.0.log.old

There should be a bunch of (EE) lines in it indicating what's the problem or indicating a clean shutdown.

It has to be an X issue, odds that this would happen on two WMs including OpenBox are way too small...

Try using uxa instead of sna.  See the Arch Wiki page on Intel graphics for more info.

I would like to know this better - could you write in detail what he should change and where?
