Hello,
I try to make Cinnamon-git working on my box.
One of the things Cinnamon-git needs is cinnamon-settings.
So I downloaded this pkgbuild and try to make a package with it by unpacking and makepkg -sic.
But then I get a message that Cinnamon-setttings needs Cinnamon to build.
Is there a easy way to make this work ?

I see only https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/cinn … aemon-git/ and it doesn't need cinnamon.
I run into
==> Starting build()...
which: no gnome-autogen.sh in (/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/bin/core_perl)
You need to install gnome-common from GNOME Subversion (or from
your distribution's package manager).
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build().
Aborting...
error though.

Hello Karol.
That's another package I'm talking about cinnamon-settings and not about cinnamon-settings-daemon.
Your error could I think be solved by installing gnome-common.

Where is that package? Can you post a link?

That's cinnamon-session not settings :-)
After installing gnome-common, it installed OK.
Please post your build log.

Hello,
I could not find the build log but this is what I see on my screen

I don't see any packages by that name, where did it come from?

All packages I try to build are from AUR. The url you can find at remark #5.

Umm, no. Look at the names, you're talking about two different packages (session vs settings).
The version you reference is really old, too. Did you download these a year and a half ago or what?

I downloaded the PKGBUILD a hour ago.
And we defintly talking about settings.

And since there is no package called "cinnamon-settings-git" and the link you posted was to "cinnamon-session-git", what are you building?

Found the PKGBUILD https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ci/c … t/PKGBUILD
It does indeed depend on cinnamon-git - maybe that's why this package has been removed ;P

Correct, I did take a good look again and I confused the two packages.
The good package is session and that one builds very good.
Next time I write down this sort of things I have to look even closer at the names.
Sorry for all the confusion.
