Another systemd not loading question

I found this error message after digging around dmesg | less

$ systemctl status systemd-modules-load.service                                                                             ⏎
systemd-modules-load.service - Load Kernel Modules
   Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/systemd-modules-load.service; static)
Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Sat 2013-08-17 11:35:50 EDT; 10min ago
     Docs: man:systemd-modules-load.service(8)
           man:modules-load.d(5)
  Process: 115 ExecStart=/usr/lib/systemd/systemd-modules-load (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)

A little bit worried as it says its a kernel module, help?

Re: Another systemd not loading question

EDIT:

Solved it. I ran sudo /usr/lib/systemd/systemd-modules-load
and got
Failed to insert 'tp_smapi': No such device or address

I had install tp_smapi for my lenovo x230, but I guess it clearly isn't for me. Uninstalling tp_smapi should solve this, about to try.

Re: Another systemd not loading question

If you don't know what the service does, read the man pages listed under "Docs". That should get you to the relevant directory in /etc. If you can't find anything wrong with your configuration, report back here.

Edit (using the Edit link, hint hint): OK, you got the error message. I think you should also have been able to find that with journalctl -xn

Re: Another systemd not loading question

Yeah. It doesn't work with the X121e either. Apparently it is "not a real thinkpad" though I get the impression fewer thinkpads are "real" by that criterion as time goes on!

Re: Another systemd not loading question

My E430 is also not a "real" Thinkpad... nor are the SL series or a number of others.  That is, if by "real" Thinkpads, we are speaking of the ones that are compatible with tp_smapi.

Re: Another systemd not loading question

I wasn't endorsing the usage - that's just the explanation I found online for it not working from, if I remember right, the developers (or one of them) who were trying to explain why (a) it didn't work on the X121e; (b) it wasn't likely to work any time soon or at all.
