Hello mates,
It seems that my laptop's touch controls aren't working. My laptop is an HP dv7-1285dx which has all these volume control and wifi toggles, and apparently the sound controls are not working though the wifi control is. Could someone get me out of this problem. Udev and synaptics are installed already. Is there anything else that needs to be done to resolve this. I couldn't find the answer on google but hey, maybe I wasn't using the right terms. Thanks.
P.S. These were working on my previous Os'es namely ubuntu, mageia... so must be something i had missed while setting up arch.

I suggest to compare the output of the lsmod command between the working and non-working systems. Perhaps one platform-specific driver (think of WMI or ACPI) is missing. Consider kernel version as well.

yeah thanks that link seems to be the one. Will mark the thread as solved as soon as I try these tomorrow. Thank you, everyone.

Sometimes getting all such keys to work properly is not quite as easy as that wiki page first makes it seem. But if/when there are problems the steps in that page will help you provide the right diagnostic information so forum members can provide further input.
