Hey Guys,
Tearing my hair out on this one because I would have thought Pacman would get everything necessary to get this up and going.
I have installed PlayOnLinux, then Wine and then Mortal Kombat 9.
When I Launch from Steam it reports
Your System does not have suffient graphics memory to support this game.
Then
Your Monitor's Aspect Ratio is 16.9 and is incompatible with this game
and then winges about it cant find directx9
Any suggestions?

Hey thanks for the reply. I did read that but it didnt work.
Ended up installing a directX package directly and it seems to have worked.
So MK booted then It would take forever to Autoconfigure. Then I ran into FPS issues.
Im running a Radeon HD6990 and a overclocked i5 with corsair Dominator Ram so its definately not the puter. Im thinking it could be the Opensource driver or I have missed something else.
Also all the buttons were backwards and the lil logos for the buttons were not displaying properly. Id love to know what font I have to install to get it looking perfect.

You might be right. Try the proprietary one and see.

Switched driver, reinstalled wine and now game crashes on startup... looks like Directx9 is there but.
Should this one be solved and create a new thread?

You can edit your first post and change the thread title then continue in this one.

This is the output:

You need to install the Visual C++ 2008 libraries (wintricks vcrun2008). The Microsoft.VC90.CRT assembly is included in msvcr90.dll.

Ah.. Thanks
It comes up with an error saying installation couldnt be completed.
So I cracked the shits and re-installed wine. Hopefully this will work now. Will keep you posted.

Removed Play on Linux as it was causing MK to re-install in Z:\??? and re-installed wine.
Also I found if you try to winetricks vcrun2008 as root it fails during installation. Easy mistake to make if you left a term in suidroot.
Game worked but low FPS again. Im using the ATI driver, where as before was using the open ![]()

So had some breif luck the other day after installing lib32-openal and now its back to not loading again.
When it does work the Frame Rates are still shite.

Also there is a bug in the game that you have to remove the options.ini if the game crashes on boot. Fixes the problem. However still have the FPS issue
