On same computer I compared how flash works in Windows and in Arch Linux and looks like it works terrible.
I think I never had so heavy problems with it like now so maybe I am doing something wrong.
Test case - open few flash videos in multiple tabs, then switch between tabs. Everything works slow, sometimes video disapear, sometimes it freezes completly.
On some sites it works but when I opened 3 youtube videos now my browser almost died (I was afraid I will need to write this post again).
My system is 64 bit, more info:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] RV770 [Radeon HD 4850]
extra flashplugin 11.2.202.297-1 [installed]
multilib lib32-libflashsupport 9.0.21.78-11 [installed]
extra firefox 23.0.1-1 [installed]
no special X configuration (in the old times I remember Xorg.conf but now it's gone)
Any tips what may be wrong?

Which video drivers are you using?
Offline
ati-dri 9.1.6-1
lib32-ati-dri 9.1.6-1
xf86-video-ati 1:7.2.0-1
I don't have catalyst installed (never tried them, I remember fglrx from years ago).

With mesa 9.2 in [extra] now, you should be able to get hardware accelerated playback for flash videos working without any hassle. Just run an update to make sure your linux kernel is at least v3.10 and mesa/ati-dri is v9.2. You also need to update some firmware files; check this older post of mine for details on where to get them and how to tell which ones you need: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 6#p1297166
Once you have that, there's a small configuration file that comes with the adobe flash package, located at /etc/adobe/mms.cfg. Open it and uncomment the line (or delete the #) that reads:
#EnableLinuxHWVideoDecode=1Reboot for good measure, and give it a go. I'm running on an HD 6000 series laptop and it works like a charm!
