I installed Arch on my machine some time ago and since then I've had problems with my dual screen setup. I have 1920x1080 monitor in portrait mode and 2560x1440 monitor in landscape mode. I use nvidia-304xx drivers because I would like to play some 3D games also. In my .xinitrc I have "xrandr --output DVI-D-0 --rotate left" because this did not work in 10-monitor.conf.
The problem is that when I start a game it displays on my left screen which is in portrait mode. I tried the settings in this thread like some other configurations but with no result. Using those settings does not change anything and the other monitor does not power off when I launch a fullscreen game. So I decided to try changing the places of my monitors: 1920x1080 (in portrait mode) to the right and 2560x1440 (in landspace mode) to the left. Now games launch appropriately on my 2560x1440 screen when I use the following commands (Xrandr identifies my portrait monitor as DVI-D-0 and my landscape monitor as DVI-I-1):
xrandr --output DVI-I-1 --pos 0x0
xrandr --output DVI-D-0 --pos 2560x0...everything works as intended but I have to write those commands manually - they don't apply if I use them in .xinitrc. I am not using DM so .xinitrc should work and in fact does because the rotating setting for my portrait screen does work. Here is my .xinitrc:
#
#~/.xinitrc
#
# Executed by startx (run your window manager from here)
#
xrandr --output DVI-D-0 --rotate left
xrandr --output DVI-I-1 --pos 0x0
xrandr --output DVI-D-0 --pos 2560x0
# xrandr --output DVI-I-1 --primary
exec startxfce4Using those offset settings in 10-monitor.conf doesn't work either. Here is my 10-monitor.conf content:
# nvidia-settings: X configuration file generated by nvidia-settings
# nvidia-settings: version 304.108 (buildmeister@swio-display-x64-rhel04-06) Wed Jul 31 20:47:31 PDT 2013

I have tried different settings with no result - 10-monitor.conf settings just do not apply. But for some reason if I change resolution settings in 10-monitor.conf they do work. Nvidia-settings GUI doesn't either honor my settings.
Any help is appreciated. I apologize for any errors in my english.
EDIT: Using XFCE4

you shouldn't use nvidia-304xx use nvidia. I have a similar problem most applications start on the left instead of the right screen.
I use KDE SC.

That is true indeed. I had misread the wiki that I should use nvidia-304xx with GTX 770 instead of nvidia package.
I installed nvidia, nvidia-utils and lib32-nvidia-utils. I got some more configuration options in nvidia-settings but the same problem still exists. I can't get offsets working properly using Xorg.conf or 10-monitor.conf. Also the second display does not power off when I launch a fullscreen game. I still need to use xrandr commands to manually set offset values in order to get the game on my primary monitor.
