I've been installing and uninstalling Rhythmbox with no luck fixing issues with the player. All of the button icons are missing (just a red X showing). When I play a track the Pause and Album Artwork icons appear, but none of the others are visible. I've been using Pacman, then tried makepkg with the AUR, but the makepkg kept returning an error at the end. There is a download on the Gnome website for the player, but I'm not sure if that can be installed with Arch. I'm wondering if this is a bug or something with my configuration.

my guess is youre using an impoverished icon set. not a lot of info here. so check your settings.
It is not advisable to install an outside package. it just needs a tweak or two

I think you're right Rufus. Everything works, but the icon images are missing. I'll have to see if I can find the folder location and fix it. thanks

you need to install gnome-icon-theme maybe also gnome-icon-theme-extras and gnome-icon-theme-symbolic
hope that helps
