When I plug my usb headset the system becomes unresponsive(freezes), and then I can only hard boot it.
This problem appeared on recent kernel updates, and since then I cannot get my system to work with my headset.
Is anyone else having the same problem? Does anyone know how to solve it?

Anything interesting in the logs?

Nothing. The system just stops.

Try opening a terminal and use 'dmesg -w' then plug the headset, see if there is something there that can be of use in trying to debug the problem.
I have been using a usb headset and a usb soundcard and I'm not having any problems so the problem is probably specific to your setup (at least something in your setup triggers the problem).

There is nothing there, It only shows that the device has been found before the system stops working(using GNOME).
On KDE it works OK.

On KDE it works OK.
Methinks this may not be Kernel & Hardware problem. I will be keeping an eye on this thread and may be moving it to application and desktop environments subforum.

It started again. Now It happens whenever I'm watching a video.

I'd say this looks a lot like a problem for the application and desktop environments subforum.
You should say which player you are using, which DE, which headset (brand, model, VID:PID from lsusb) and any other important details about the way you have your headset plugged into your system, otherwise you will not get any helpful answers.
Also try with other players and see if the problem still happens, check if you can reliably replicate the problem.

I think the problem is related to pulseaudio, I uninstalled it and the problem is gone.
I was experiencing the same issues in both gnome and kde, in any player only with the USB headset.
I cannot give any more kernel info because I don't have any, the system just freezes.
The usb Headset is a Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000.
