I cannot tell why, but since last friday i have the following issue
If i plug in my CardReader with an SD-Card --> it wont show up in the system.
dmesg tells it is detected fine and gives it the name sdd (but not sdd1 or whatever)
fdisk -l tells that there is no medium on/at /devsdd
Also my Canon Pixma MG5150 USB printer stopped working at the same time. I plug the printer in, it gets detected fine by usblp and usb-storage (also have a card-reader) but non of both work.
No printing device is created in /dev
Now the weird stuff begins
1. there is no error message in any logs (dmesg says everything goes fine)
2. The physical stand-alone card-reader dont work
3. The cardreader in the printer works
4. Pen-drive also works
5. printer itself does not work
So i have a non-functional printer (with working card-reader) and a non-working card-reader but a working pen-drive.
For reference, all those devices are working fine on Gentoo and on a Ubuntu Notebook
I even tried a whole new fresh archlinux install on a separate partition and it doesnt changed anything.
sounds like kernel/udev related and im lacking in ideas now...

Please post the outputs of uname -a and lspci so we can have more information about your computer. Is it a laptop? If so, which model?

I have no clue why, but out of nothing the cardreader started working again..... _very_ strange...
to be honest, im fine with the status no. I have no more time to invest into the printer problem but except for the printer, everything works now.
Im looking again about the printer issue after next kernel upgrade.
Thx anyway
