samba not working?? i havent been able to get samba working for the last few weeks, and i have gutted it, reinstalled it, poured through error logs, reset network connections, defaulted alot of settings, used swat wizard, checked permissions, changed settings and nothing worked.
today, i was determined to make drastic changes to get it working. i went through pdbedit, smbpasswd, then i went into swat tool advanced settings and changed a bunch of things to what would seem logic, and i really changed alot of settings, no holds barred. before i rebooted after the last steps of altering advanced settings in swat, i noticed my root partition was FULL. DOH! i cleaned out pacman cache, then rebooted, and right away i was accessing my samba files across the network.
Word to the wise, check for free space too if your having samba issues, then if that doesnt work tweak the hell out of the advanced swat settings, logically, and be brave, then try that. Im not sure which one it was at this time, if i figure it out definitely ill report back, but i gotta to get to some development right now.
HTH
