Installed steam but everything is blended in together...? Can't see

I installed steam by using pacman -S steam and it installed perfectly fine, except the fact that you can't see anything. There are literlaly no english words on the program. There are some lines that look like words but they are blended in. I logged in like a blind man and taking guesses which button to press, but once logged in everything is still completely messed up. You can't see any names on the friends list, and what not. How do i fix this?

Thank you, but I'm completely new to linux so I'm not really sure what commands i need to use to make this happen. I don't know where to find the fonts folder or if it even exists.

If you don't know what does '~/.fonts/' mean and you can't figure out how to follow

Simply download SteamFonts.zip and install them (copying to ~/.fonts/ works at least).

I'm not sure if Arch Linux is the right distro for you.

This is not how things work here. These instructions are as simple as they get.

If you can't install the fonts, as per the wiki article, I have no idea how you installed Arch.

As karol points out, we aren't here to spoonfeed people; please don't be a help vampire.

Arch is not recommended to newcommers (specially if you come *here* asking for help heheh), but since you already installed the system (which I ask myself HOW), why not google how to install fonts?

Google Search: How to install fonts on Linux

The Wiki pointed here was the FIRST result on a Google search, so.... you know.

Google Search: Steam font messed up linux

If it ain't broke, you haven't tweaked it enough...

Lol OP, welcome to the Arch Linux forums!

Not to sound unconstructive but yeah, that's how the people here post. They call it a Newbie Corner but they don't really mean that.

However, to understand Arch, you do have to learn how to solve a lot of your problems on your own. Such is life though.

One hint, which is hard to find in a crawler: ~ is your home folder, so ~/.fonts is a folder called .fonts in your home folder. If the folder is not there, creating the folder might be reasonable.

HIKO, thanks for trying to help, but this topic is over three years old. Lukas hasn't been on the forum since they started this topic, they are unlikely to still be searching for a solution. Please be mindful of the age of topics when responding.
