[SOLVED] Thoughts on a good network manager

I have had horrible problems with wireless using netctl in which I would get a connection and then it would drop
I currenlty use the iwlwifi driver for my chipset - Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N 1000 [Condor Peak]. I switched to the network manager applet, etc, and It works okay; however, I still feel that the connection times out a lot or completely drops periodically - generally after submitting a ping request to a website (firefox browsing, etc). Ensure that you do not have multiple things trying to control your network.

Perhaps you could post the output of systemctl --no-pager

Wicd is a great option. My Intel drivers used to require manual configuration on Arch, and then I found wicd. Nowdays (under the current release) my drivers work out of the box so I've stuck with networkmanager, but wicd is another good one.

For the semi-rare occasions I have to use a wireless network, I use wicd. For everything else, there's mastercard er.. custom systemd services, or dhcpcd@.service.

I've never used networkmanager, and don't see the point in it.

I disabled networkmanager, netctl, etc, and installed wicd. It seems to be working good.
