Frequent connection drops with ath5k (AR5212) wifi
I am using an internal Atheros AR5212 card (ath5k module) with netcfg.
What I'm experiencing is basically frequent (every few seconds) failures to fetch URLs, etc. but without actually disconnecting from the wireless network. This affects browsing, pacman, ssh and more. To finally establish a successful connection I have to spam the command or keep refreshing the page until it loads fully.
Needless to say this becomes incredibly annoying when I have to fill in my gmail password twenty or so times because it hasn't managed to complete authentication.
These symptoms only happen with this laptop and a specific router X, but one I use enough that it is a significant problem. This laptop is fine with other routers.
I do not experience these symptoms using a Macbook or Android phone with router X.
I have already tried the nohwcrypt module option to ath5k with no luck. I have tried playing with the txpower but this card doesn't seem to support changing it. Any other ideas?
