[Solved] Closing my laptop lid

As late as yesterday, closing my laptop lid would make my pc sleep. But today I did a full system update and now when I close the lid, it doens't fall to sleep. When I open it, the screen lights up (views the screen), then blacks out for about 1-2 seconds, and then shows the screen again, but it's completely frozen for about 15 seconds. And I can't ctrl + alt + F<n> either.

Reboot and try again.
Post the list of packages that were updated.

Rebooting did it.

Check if the kernel was among the packages you updated.
You should reboot after updating the kernel.
