The bug report is here. Just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas:
http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/3617
Rox segfaults on startup. That's it. No other problems have occurred.
I think it's a problem with the recent gtk upgrade.
???
EDIT: If I run 'rox --debug' I get:
/usr/share/ROX-Filer/AppRun: line 55: exec: gdb: not found

Don't know what the problem might be, but I can report that I've upgraded to the latest gtk2 and rox is working fine here. Have you tried reinstalling rox?

Yeah...and GTK2, but it hasn't worked.
I'll sniff around some more when I have more time.
I ain't no guru, though.

Crashes for me when I switch to detailed view mode. Works fine in icon view. Used to work fine, but I just re-installed Arch after a few month of hiatus.

Oops... just checked mine on detailed view and get the same crash, whereas it was working fine before the gtk2 upgrade. Icon mode still works fine.

I have the same problem. When I switched to detailed view mode, Rox crashes.

I just noticed that a rox upgrade is available in the Arch repos and installing it has fixed this problem on my box. All viewing modes seem to be working without crashing now. 8)

Yeah, I noticed that bug before, but stucked at the source to detect what exactly triggered that:
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/foru … um_id=4178
But technically this has been the reason why I waited b4 upgrading after I realized that the lately released 2.4 didn't sove the problem. I decided to go for the patch instead of waiting for another(maybe bugfixing) upstream release.
Enjoy,

I have written:
pacman -Syu and pacman -S rox.
But the new version of rox wasn't found. Than I have updated abs, and found under /extra/x11/rox the new PKGBUILD. I have installed it from PKGBUILD.

Probably the mirror you use didn't had time to sync yet. Some of them can take a few days to update. In this case, you need to wait or temporarily use another miror. Or use abs like you did.
